Afterlife explores disappearance and loss in the form of omissions, transformations, and spaces in between states. Artificial images of nature, the universe, the sea, and mushrooms (portraying the continuous cycle of death and rebirth), create a futuristic dystopia that ponders whether we will one day experience nature through a projected reality. Simultaneously, expressions of pleasure, fear, and indulgence embrace the dual symbolism of both consuming nature and becoming it. How do we perceive, or even conceive the afterlife; a state or dimension we have not, and never will experience? Perhaps if we approach it as a memory, a nostalgia for something beyond our grasp, we will have found a point of departure.
